It's like they came pre-gift wrapped.
Laptops were first a novelty reserved for only the most hardcore computing elites. Then they became a sort of bulky replacement for desktops, the neat part being that you could haul it anywhere. Then they became commonplace but ugly, aimed at the people who wanted IRL to STFU. And now, finally, we're here. Today we're in a world where the fashionable types want a pretty laptop to show off instead of a beige workhorse to do their calculations in secret.
Don't think beauty means the laptop inside is a piece of junk. But don't think a good laptop means the outside has to look like junk either. What we consumers want now is a beautiful and all-encompassing experience. And this laptop is a laptop that we consumers can take to the LAN party to play Quake and then also take to the prom to play Radiohead MP3s.
Wait... what do you mean, we're stuck in the last century? Don't you kids still play Quake and listen to Radiohead?
