How would you explain an air multiplier to an alien?

If you were face to face with a little grey alien and all you were holding was an air multiplier, how would you explain it? You could set the air multiplier down, act friendly, show the alien it was no weapon, but then what? If you talk about how the air multiplier sends heat throughout the room, you leave out all the cooling capabilities. If you focus on how an air multiplier moves air at a high velocity, helping you stay cool, you overlook the exciting bladeless design. If you talk about how this is to a normal fan what a jet is to a propeller plane, you don't get near the ultra-rare heating powers. Where would you begin to explain this thing a being with no baseline? How do you teach a cosmic visitor all about the revolutionary thinking behind this air multiplier?

Proving once again the old adage: if you meet an alien, call in the military and let them handle it. We civilians just can't be trusted with crazy things like "friendship" and "starting a conversation with a stranger."
